Our goal is to create a warm and welcoming casting process. The team strives to lead with respect, kindness, and generosity. In regard to the character descriptions– they outline the characters as delineated in the script and in consultation with the creative team. They do not aim to be all-encompassing representations of who might fill these roles, and we aim for an expansive and deliberate casting process. We acknowledge that the characters in the script are traditionally presented as either male or female (using he/him or she/her pronouns). However, we warmly welcome submissions from individuals who identify as gender non-conforming, genderqueer, transgender, or non-binary for the roles that resonate most with their identity.

CINDERELLA (Early 20s) Sees the good in everyone despite her hardships and suffering from her Stepmother and stepsisters. Dreams of and is determined to find a better life for herself.

THE PRINCE (Early 20s) Charming of course, but also moral, genuine, and in search for something more.

STEPMOTHER (40s+) Vain, and unapologetically dismissive, who is unkind and cruel to Cinderella. Mainly concerned with her wealth, and her own offspring's happiness.

PORTIA (20s to early 30s) Obnoxious and self-centered. Named in direct opposition to her true demeanor. She is not the brightest person in the kingdom.

JOY (20s to early 30s)  Brash, and bratty, she never passes up the opportunity to be the center of attention. Like her sister she is named in direct opposition to her true demeanor.

FAIRY GODMOTHER (30s - 60s) Kind, gentle and loving, yet extremely pragmatic. Always focused on helping those in need.

THE KING (40s+) A bit of a fuddy-duddy who loves his son and wife, and always has the best of intention.

THE QUEEN (40s+) Always wants the best for her son, and does her best to keep her husband in line. At times serious, but always affectionate.

ENSEMBLE: Members of the ensemble will play various townsfolk and members of the royal court. Strong dancers who can sing.
