Get on the Bus…

Marriott Theatre Lincolnshire’s children’s offering for spring brings an beloved classic book series to life – “The Magic School Bus: Lost In The Solar System” is live on stage. This show has a lot of magic going, with performers of high caliber who can act, sing, and dance in such a way a young audience can relate to. Lost in space in a school bus, the yellow transport becomes magical as the actors explore space and the planets with emphasis on teamwork. Unafraid, they manage to get back on earth from a journey into space which is a nod to science class projects that can actually be fun if one approaches them as a game.

The excellent costuming, light, and set design, along with impeccable choreography, is well balanced in its musical theater component and dialogue – not too much, nor too little on either, making a one hour show fly by like a spaceship.  There are a couple of tricks in how brilliantly the directors convey space.  I don’t want to give it away – you must see for yourself…

Wonderful parents and grandparents taking their children for an outing – a fun morning becomes a lovely memory having sparked their imagination. The cast students and Ms. Frizzle themselves answered random questions young goers have – a most delightful and entertaining part and end to the show. So get on the bus before this interplanetary trip ends March 29th – please see www.marriotttheatre.com for tickets or more information.
