'Madagascar' the Musical: Time to move it, move it to the Marriott Theatre
When we heard that Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe and Gloria the Hippo were making their way to the Marriott Theatre for Young Audiences, we couldn't wait to see them on stage for Madagascar - A Musical Adventure. It was a “crack-a-lackin’” fun-filled hour full of laughter, music and dancing as we followed the famous zoo escapees on their adventure to Madagascar.
Here are some reasons your kids will love Madagascar:
An intimate hour with the characters. The actors truly brought the loveable characters to life! Marty the Zebra was as funny as ever, Gloria the Hippo was fabulous and sassy, Melman the Giraffe was adorable with his hypochondriac ways, and Alex the Lion was, of course, the showstopper. Plus who can forget the four sneaky and hilarious penguins?
A great rendition of the original movie. They packed in everything we loved about the movie, then added music and dancing. My husband even claimed it was better than the movie!
Move it, move it. The music was as catchy as ever and you better believe the audience had a blast shaking their butts.
It's hilarious. We already knew the movie was funny, but the actors and actresses really know how to bring laughter out of the crowd with the silly jokes and conversations.
Ideal length. It's only 60 minutes and perfect for those youngins who have a hard time sitting still through anything.
Not a bad seat in the house. The stage is set up in the middle with the audience surrounding it. Every seat is great!
Question and answers. Kids are encouraged to ask the actors and actresses questions in a live Q&A session afterwards. A pretty cool way to get the inside scoop!
Bottom line, Madagascar gets two thumbs up from this family. I'm sure you'll love it too!
